Halloween Crafty

I found some awesome Pins on Pinterest for Halloween decor on Friday. So I headed to the dollar store and bought up some materials. Saturday morning Hayden and I made some of these awesome things.

1. A Creature Wreath. The pin I saw was a snake wreath from this site, I couldn't find enough snakes so I opted for a creepy creature wreath. I took plastic spiders, snakes, bugs, and a bat and spray painted what wasn't already black, a glossy black. I bought a large hay wreath and spray painted that black as well. After the paint dried Hayden and I glued the creatures on. The lighter snakes are glow in the dark.

2. Chalkboard sign. I found chalkboard paint for $1.24 at the craft store and a cute little wood sign for $0.79. Hayden decided we would write something new on it every day till Halloween.

We have some more to do, but this week is full up of preparation for a special trip to Disneyland. Our first as a family and a celebration of our 10 year wedding anniversary.

Here are some more of what I found on Pinterest:

Happy Friday the 13th

I can't breathe. Well I can but my nose is stuffy and my throat is scratchy. I caught some kind of illness that had inflicted my husband, my son and my coworkers. I have been attacking it back with a vengeance or rather with cold medicine and sinus soother tea.
But with the sickness comes the FALL!!! I love the fall, LOVE IT.
Right now the stores are filling their shelves with Halloween decor and with my obsession of skulls this is the best time to buy my year round decor.
One of my favorite blogs Beautiful Mess has a great post of 20 ideas for Fall . I am all about the food for sure.

Tonight we play a show at the Dive Bar. It is exactly as it sounds a DIVE BAR. But we love it and haven't played there since they relocated.

Another great FALL kickoff was our band photo shoot on Monday. We got to sneak peek the upcoming Fright Dome and pose next to the blood and guts. The shoot was done by Radiant Inc. We wanted to get some new photos to show off the new lineup and prepare for all the great things coming up.

Here's one of my favorites. You can see the rest on our facebook

Our new guitar player Brian is second from left. He's been a great addition to the band and helped rekindle the creative fire in all of us.
We have some great things in the works and have brought back some of our older songs to pay tribute to our 10 year anniversary.

Hope everyone has a great Friday the 13th and if you're in Vegas come down to The Dive Bar around 9pm.

The Floor- DomRock Decor

Before

After

Last weekend we had the kitchen floor redone. For almost four years the horrible white linoleum was a huge pain for me. I tried everything from hand scrubbing to a steam mop but it never felt clean enough.
We found a great vinyl tile that was affordable and easy to install. Installation took about eight hours and the price was under $200.
It's so much nicer now and we all love it.

We're now shopping around for a new table. The current table isn't really our style with white tile top and white wood chairs. It was a hand down from my Aunt and Uncle in California. We've had the table for eight years and have been able to hide it under a cool skull tablecloth. I'd really like to find one I don't have to hide. I also need something big enough for dinner parties.
I pinned some of my ideas. I you have some to share feel free.

DomRock Decor: Wants

I have been updating my Pintrest recently after it collected dust for a while on my facebook app collection.

http://pinterest.com/domrockstar/for-the-home/

We recently started renovating our home decor and looking at options for new furniture.

It's been a challenge deciding on our "style." I love dark modern furniture and Brian likes big and comfy.

Our house is mostly beige and tan and I hate it. If I could have tile or wood floors the modern style I love would fit fine.

We just got a major hate of our house fixed, we had the kitchen floor redone.

What are your home decor wants?

Just a few skulls

About six years ago I started collecting skulls. It all started with a tattoo and now has become the theme of most of my wardrobe and home decor. I can usually only buy most items around Halloween time, but with the popularity of skulls as of late I've been able to find cool items on the internet any time of year.  Here are a few items in my collection

1/ Two candlesticks and silver glitter skull candles I picked up at Michaels a few years ago. 2/ My skull tablecloth. I got it at Target in 2008. They always have great skull decor around Halloween. What I love the most about it is the ability to machine wash it after Hayden gets food all over it. 3/ The skull in the back is a plastic halloween decoration from a party store wearing a pig mask we used for our music video. The cookie jar I got at World Market a year and a half ago. 4/ Skull votive holder, silver salt and pepper shakers and a skull mug I got at a Tiki store in Sacramento in 2005.

My jewelry and wardrobe are filled with skulls of all shapes and sizes.
These don't even show half of them.

What do you collect?
